Secure Transportation
Summary Description:
Drivers should be courteous, friendly and be able to deliver excellent customer service to passengers in the SFO city limits area. Drivers must assist passengers getting in and out of the vehicle, and load/unload passengers in wheelchairs when and where necessary. Drivers must transport passengers to and from their designated shelter house locations or stations in a safe, efficient manner.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Drivers must perform a pre-trip vehicle inspection on all vehicles assigned for the shift; Drivers must also perform a pre-trip inspection on all vehicle equipment such as wheelchair tie-down equipment, hydraulic wheelchair lift, and all safety belts; Drivers must ensure all safety regulations and precautions are followed as required by Federal safety regulations as well as company safety policies and procedures; Drivers must communicate with the local management team, the passengers, the company dispatch, and each local shelter house managers regarding operational issues or concerns they may encounter; Drivers must prepare and submit a daily driver’s log and vehicle inspection report(s) at the end of their shift. Drivers must perform daily general housekeeping to ensure a clean working vehicle and environment.
Education & Training:
High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required. A valid commercial driver’s license class A, B, or C CDL with passenger endorsement is required. A valid First Aid/CPR card is required. The company will provide First Aid/CPR training certification if necessary. Drivers must also have a current and valid DOT Medical Certificate card. Drivers must provide a current CA DMV driving history report printout with employment application. DMV report must be current and valid no more than thirty (30) days from the date of the application.
Knowledge and Experience:
Experience driving a passenger shuttle bus and driving passengers with special needs are a plus. Must have a driver’s license for at least five (5) years. No more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) ‘at fault’ accident in the last three (3) years. Applicants must be familiar with using cellular phones, a GPS/Navigation app in a cell phone, and familiarity with the general SFO city limits area.

Working Conditions :
Drivers must be able to work in a fast pace environment inside the SFO city limits. The bus route runs weekdays Monday through Friday and weekends, including all holidays, from 6:00am to 10:00am for the morning shift and 2:00pm to 9:00pm for the afternoon shift. Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening test, a breath alcohol screen test, and a DOT physical exam and a regular physical exam. Applicants must also pass an FBI/DOJ background check, an NSOPW and EPstaff background check. Applicants must successfully complete all company training(s). Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to pass the physical exam(s) required, and be able to lift up to 100 LBS and push/pull up to 200 LBS. Must be able to bend from the waist, pivot from waist, and be able to move from a standing position to a kneeling position and back to standing.
