Senior Manager, Integrated Communications Investments & Corporate

Your role
As part of the Integrated Communication team, you’ll empower our Genworth associates to do their best work in helping more families navigate the challenges of aging, and then tell that story to our customers and the media. We are looking for a Senior Manager of Integrated Communications to be the strategic communications owner and executor for our Investments, Legal & Compliance, Risk and Finance senior executives and their various audiences including associates, policyholders, distributors, and media. This person will be an effective strategist and communicator across internal communications, traditional media, and social media, as well as a trusted communications advisor to Genworth’s corporate leadership. Note: This role is an individual contributor. This role will report directly to the VP, Integrated Communications and will be responsible for serving as a spokesperson for Genworth among reporters, policyholders, distributors and Genworth associates.
What you will be doing
• Develop, manage, and implement the integrated communications strategy for Genworth’s Investments, Risk, Legal & Compliance, and Finance functions across multiple channels, including key messaging, associate communications, executive social media support, and some media engagement, along with discreet projects and initiatives.
• Proactively partner with Genworth’s Chief Investment Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Risk Officer to provide coaching and advisement on communications issues
• Proactively partner with Human Resource Business Partners to develop communications and platforms that support associate engagement
• Partner with the VP, Integrated Communications on various corporate level communications, as needed, including crisis communications planning & execution, quarterly financial reporting process and investor relations communications support
• Serve as a subject matter expert on executive engagement on social media, including reviewing posts, identifying content to share, and posting of behalf of executives
• Manage media engagement for your executives, as well as their functional areas, including inbound inquiries by reporters and other stakeholders and proactive media engagement involving subject matter experts
• Elevate Genworth leadership profiles both internally and externally
• Identify and support ongoing internal communications rhythms within the corporate functional areas
• Draft agendas, talking points, and visuals for associate meetings and external presentations
• Partner with other members of the Integrated Communications team to manage message flow, ongoing rhythms, and other discreet cross-topic communications projects
• Other duties as assigned
What you bring
• 10+ years of experience in Corporate Communications with a primary focus on internal communications and some experience with traditional and social media
• Exceptional digital communications skills, including Office365 (especially Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and basic graphic design (Canva)
• Demonstrated ability to take projects from concept to design to implementation in a matrixed team environment
• Experience developing and implementing crisis communications plans
• Experience supporting C-level executives communication’s needs
• Experience working with highly confidential content
• Strong aptitude building and maintaining relationships as well as influencing others
Nice to have
• Prior experience in social media and public relations for executives.
• Understanding of Financial Services and Insurance industries a plus—or ability to come up to speed quickly
