SUMMARY: The Production Planning Supervisor oversees all aspects of the production planning process and works cross-functionally with manufacturing, customer service, sales, and purchasing to ensure company goals are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build a strong, motivated production planning team capable of consistently managing raw material and finished goods inventory
- Ensure efficient, timely raw material replenishment to ensure production teams can meet production targets
- Empower the production planning team to collaborate with manufacturing to improve consumption processes to ensure replenishment programs are successful
- Ensure adherence to all production control processes in the Standardized Work Instructions and make sure that all team members get the needed training and support to be successful
- Maintain Standardized Work Instructions and updates training library as needed
- Generates work orders and manages production schedules and planner category assignments to meet customer delivery requests while best utilizing the company’s production capacity
- Analyzes, plans, and manages production control activities
- Reviews production plan to identify risks and communicates the same to Manager
- Plans inventory management technique to avoid any shortages and excesses
- Plans and monitors material movement in production cycle to ensure continuous operations
- Develops process improvements for inventory, manufacturing and production control systems to meet business objectives
- Investigates production control problems, analyze root causes, and derive solutions
- Monitors the execution of job orders and adjust production schedule for on time delivery
- Analyzes current and backlog job orders and accordingly develop production plan and schedules
- Works with materials, manufacturing and purchasing departments in identifying and resolving production planning problems
- Oversees item creation/development process along with item data management
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer skills required: Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite

- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
