As a Fleet Manager, you – will be a dynamic, multi-task oriented senior professional with ability to manage all day-to-day maintenance aspects of our fleet, as well make recommendations for replacement or redeployment of equipment.

Regular duties include coordinating, scheduling and auditing of vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative maintenance and repair to tractors, trucks and trailers. .

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Regular duties include coordinating, scheduling and auditing of vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative maintenance and repair to tractors, trucks and trailers, in a timely manner to ensure equipment is on the road. Work closely with dispatch team to ensure drivers are not stranded or without equipment.
  • Manage part and repair costs to drive profitability through the organization.
  • Managing External Vendors involved in R&M of fleet, as well as internal associates.
  • Provide data around fleet and equipment costs. Make recommendation on redeployment of equipment, and replacement of equipment. Obtain quotes, negotiating, etc with Equipment Vendors for new or replacement equipment.
  • Issues PO’s, and maintain all data on R&M in our Maintenance software package.
  • Conduct all prep work for new acquisition of equipment to get on the road timely including satellite tracking installation, decaling, paperwork processing, etc.
  • Must be able to manage and interface with client.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience managing a fleet
  • Post-Secondary Education or Training preferred.
  • Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
  • Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers in maintenance software package,
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
  • Must have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft outlook.
  • Must have technical competence with light/medium vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Current CDL A license preferred
  • Solid knowledge of managing audits, PM schedules.
  • Must be able to take calls as needed after normal business hours
