Under the direction of the Associate Director, Administrative Services, the Emergency Services Manager assists and protects Center staff, client and families services by the Center and Service Providers affected by any disaster or emergency; both natural and man-made. These tasks will be accomplished in partnership with local and government agencies through the State of California’s Emergency Management System (SEM) structure. Responsible for other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must demonstrate a strong understanding of Emergency Services Act (ESA), Incident Command Systems (ICS), Standardized Emergency Management System/National Incident Management System (SEMS/NIMS), Emergency Support Functions (ESF), Recovery Support Functions (RSF), Emergency Management Mutual Aid (EMMA); Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP), and Emergency Communications System (Everbridge). Will have demonstrated experience in multi-cultural settings and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with staff, Center clients, families, service providers, and the public.
Will also possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, preparation of clear, accurate and concise reports, including the analysis and interpretation of statistical data and recommendations, possess strong organizational and conflict resolution skills. Will possess the ability to make oral presentations, organize and prepare written materials, collaborate with team of professionals, as well as work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects. Must have strong computer skills including but not limited to, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The incumbent will be required to have a Bachelor of Science degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of emergency services and response experience.
This position may require evenings and/or weekends as well as irregular and long hours on short notice when activated due to an emergency.
Bilingual; Spanish/English is preferred but not required.
Valid California driver’s license, current automobile insurance and adequate transportation to fulfill position responsibilities are also required.
Please note, this is an in-office position and the Center requires all employees be fully vaccinated or adhere to weekly testing protocol.
Position Salary Range: $61,371 – $90,126
