Description

The Veterans Curation Program (VCP) provides employment, vocational training, and technology skills to veterans seeking to improve access to the mainstream job market. It processes at-risk archaeological collections belonging to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers by employing veterans as laboratory technicians to catalog and photograph artifacts, and clean, scan, and re-house photographs and documents. The five-month program offers employment and training in archaeology, federal government work, and skills for post-military careers. It serves veterans seeking to improve access to the mainstream job market and is available in flagship lab locations in Alexandria, VA; Augusta, GA; St. Louis, MO; and San Mateo, CA. Veterans participate in the program at these specific lab locations. The program is managed by New South Associates.
