CENTCOM Commander Visits Israel

TAMPA, Fla. – On May 10 – 12 Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command, traveled to Israel to meet with Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi and several other Israeli organizations to discuss the situation in Gaza, the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gazan citizens, and regional security. He also met with U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Ambassador Jack Lew, and visited U.S. Servicemembers and maritime vessels preparing to facilitate delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gazans via the sea. The visit concludes a multi-country trip to the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
