Carpenter-Saw Technician
As an entry-level Carpenter-Saw Technician in our carpentry team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of various saws and cutting equipment used in our woodworking projects. You will work closely with experienced carpenters and saw operators to learn the fundamentals of saw maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities:
- Saw Maintenance: Assist in the regular maintenance of saws and cutting equipment, ensuring they are in excellent working condition. This involves cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting various components to prevent downtime and ensure safety.
- Saw Calibration: Learn to calibrate saws accurately to ensure precise and consistent cutting results. Collaborate with experienced technicians to maintain proper blade alignments, fence accuracy, and other critical settings.
- Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing and resolving issues related to saw operation, including blade wear, alignment problems, and electronic malfunctions. Develop problem-solving skills to keep saws functioning efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating and maintaining the saws. Work closely with experienced team members to create a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and organizing the inventory of saw blades, spare parts, and other related tools. Notify senior technicians when supplies need replenishing.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibrations, and repairs performed on each saw. Provide reports to senior technicians as required.
- Assistance in Projects: Support carpenters and other team members during woodworking projects by setting up and operating saws accurately and efficiently.
- Continuous Learning: Participate actively in training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills in saw technology and carpentry practices.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in carpentry or related fields is a plus.
