LifeShare is seeking a dependable Blood Products Distribution Technician to join our hospital services team at our Baton Rouge donor center. The Technician will drive a Company vehicle to pick-up, package and deliver blood products to hospitals and other healthcare centers as needed. Providing excellent customer service and adhering to established quality practices, the Technician will pick-up units from blood collection sites and transport blood to the processing facility for component preparation; sort, package and label products for shipment; and transport blood and blood component products to hospital customers. The Technician may also take product orders and receive returns of products, documenting appropriately.
As an integral member of the hospital services team, the Technician helps to ensure a safe blood supply is available at healthcare centers in our community when needed for traumas, therapies and treatments. The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual and acts in a professional manner. S/he demonstrates a positive approach toward donors, team members and hospital staff members and has a passion for service to our community.

Since 1942, LifeShare has operated blood centers to facilitate generous donors sharing the Gift of Life. Today, we provide blood components to medical facilities throughout Louisiana, east Texas, and south Arkansas. Cutting edge work in rare blood trait identification has led to LifeShare’s leadership position in providing rare blood components to patients nationally and internationally.
Upon successful completion of the in-house training program, the rate of pay is approximately $12.00 – 13.50/hr, depending on the shift worked. - High school diploma or equivalent
- Requires handling of blood and blood products
- Ability to lift equipment, such as coolers, boxes and supplies up to 40 lbs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including on-call rotation
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record (5 years of licensed driving history and no DUI convictions and no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years)
- Must be able to read and discern packaging labels and document orders
